Wall Thickness Measurement Gauge – MiniTest 7400FH
The MiniTest 7400FH is a professional, high-end wall thickness measurement gauge suitable for non-destructive testing of non-magnetic materials such as glass, plastics, stainless steel and composites of up to 24mm. The thickness gauge is suitable for use on complex component geometries and offers repeatability, compensates for temperature influences of the measuring environment & the measurement object and is very highly wear-resistant.
The wall thickness is determined by measuring the distance of a steel reference ball to the sensor tip. A powerful magnet attracts the reference ball which holds it exactly over the sensor tip.
Measurements are displayed on an easy to use menu driven operator interface and data filing system. To maximise the accuracy of the instrument, two easily interchangeable sensors (probes) with a carbide metal probe tip and a variety of ball sizes are available to cover thickness ranges from 0 to 4 mm (FH4 probe) and 0 to 10 mm (FH10 probe).
Applications
The Minitest 7400FH is suitable for non-destructive wall thickness measurement of:
- Non-magnetic materials like plastics, glass, ceramic, non-ferrous metals.
- All kinds of hollow items like bottles, aluminium cans, glass and plastic containers with complex geometries.
- Thermo-moulded parts like cups, cans, bowls.
- Die-cast and moulded plastic parts, fibre compound materials, non-ferrous metals etc., for example in the automotive field (gear casing, body and interior components), in avionics (turbine components, combustion chambers, high-pressure pipes), in the medical field.
Features:
- Precision in wall thickness measurement of up to 24 mm
- Greater accuracy and repeatability by the sensor-integrated digital signal processing (SIDSP®)
- High resolution upwards of 0.1 µm
- 20 readings per second
- Wear-resistant sensors with hardened sensor tips
- Recording and statistical evaluation of up to 240,000 readings
- Display of minimum and maximum values
- Menu-driven operator interface
